Welcome to Basics of Solar Photovoltaic Systems Course.
The course is open but not limited to new students interested in solar PV technology, certificate and diploma students in electrical installation, solar energy technicians, installers, project developers, vocational instructors, and solar companies
The course is divided into 11 units:
UNIT 1: Solar energy materials, tools and equipment.
UNIT 2: Solar energy resource analysis.
UNIT 3: DC electricity analysis.
UNIT 4: PV Cell parameters analysis.
UNIT 5: Solar PV system components identification and analysis.
UNIT 6: Batteries connection.
UNIT 7: Solar PV system design.
UNIT 8: Solar PV system installation.
UNIT 9: Solar PV system commissioning.
UNIT 10: Trouble shooting for the solar PV system.
UNIT 11: Maintenance of solar PV system

This course is the entry point to become a licensed solar technician. Participants’ receive comprehensive know-how for photovoltaics, hands-on training with technical components, designing, and maintaining optimized PV stand-alone systems to apply for a T1 license from the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Commission (EPRC).
This course covers the competencies required to design, install, commission and maintain solar PV systems.
